Ama: Women's City Frame

This city frame has been designed for all-weather urban commutes, yet can also handle dirt roads well. The frame was first tested on the streets of Accra, Ghana, where the stable yet agile geometry allows one to avoid potholes and aggressive taxi drivers. 700c wheel size and disc brakes make it easy to mount fenders for all-weather riding.

This frame is also available with an optional eccentric bottom bracket for converting to single-speed or internally geared hub use. They are designed for use with a single front chainring.

You have the option to wrap the seat tube in a Kente design (as shown in the first image). Kente is an African textile design native to the Akan ethnic group of South Ghana. We can wrap the seat tube portion of the frame in this brightly colored banded material made in Ghana by the Asante tradition. Alternatively, you can keep it classic with exposed bamboo tubes all around.
